Hours of Operation

Hours of operation differ from site to site. Basically the programs operate from 6:00 AM to school's closing to 6:00 PM.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Because the programs are located in public schools, there are certain days we can not operate. We gain entrance into a school only through a 12 month employee; if all staff have a holiday or cannot work (such as was the case of the winter of 1994 when the schools lost electricity), WE CANNOT OPERATE THE PROGRAM.

As an outside contractor providing a much needed service,we encourage you to secure a back-up arrangement so that your child will have care when the program is closed. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

The goal of The Adventure Club is for the program to remain open, even in the event of inclement weather. Unfortunately, sometimes challenging situations occur that are beyond our control. As an outside contractor providing a service, our contract does not allow for our staff to have access without school personnel. Therefore, we are dependent on school staff to gain entry into the public school buildings.

The programs that will NOT be open on INCLEMENT WEATHER DAYS are Belview Elementary, Christiansburg, Harding Avenue, Margaret Beeks Elementary, Price's Fork, and Shawsville Elementary Adventure Clubs. The following media services will be used to inform you of any changes to the above situations: WSLS-Channel 10 TV, WDBJ-Channel 7, WPSK, and K92. Code 1 - MCPS delayed 1 hour, Adventure Club opens 6am.
Code 2 - MCPS delayed 2 hour, Adventure Club opens 6am.
Code 3 - MCPS schools closed, Adventure Club opens 7:30am.
Code 4 - MCPS schools closed, Adventure Clubs closed.

When the public schools are closed for inclement weather, we will delay our opening until 7:30a.m. This will give everyone enough time to get to the site safely. If no one is present at 9:00a.m., the site will be closed. Or, if five or less children are present, parents/guardians will be notified that they need to pick-up their child(ren) by 10:00a.m.

Parents of full-time enrolled children (those scheduled every day- morning, afternoon, or both am/pm) should include the school closing fee with their monthly or weekly advance payment check, or pay the day of service to the Director. Part-time parents must pay the day of service. Fees are posted on the current rate sheet. If you have any questions concerning payment please call our main office.
